D.Y. Patil Medical College   INTRODUCTION The D.Y.Patil Medical College was established in 1989 on a sprawling campus admeasuring 5.5 acres of land. The total bunt up area of the budding is 11172.0 sq. ft. The cost of the building is Rs.180 million. The hospital is catering to the needs of population of Western part of Maharashtra State, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Kokan and Some parts of Karnataka State. In effect the hospital serves a population of more than six million with a highly subsidized rates. Average OPD of tne hospital is around 1000 per day and occupancy is more than 95%.
